I am committed to helping clients build resilience and create a value-driven life. I believe in nurturing self-compassion and developing skills to engage with and overcome struggles. This happens through validation, exploration, and challenge and building a trusting, open relationship with my clients. With a client-centred approach, I am dedicated to staying up-to-date on current research through reading, consulting with colleagues, and continuing education opportunities.
By respecting each client’s unique qualities and needs, I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to help clients overcome challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relational challenges, behavioral issues, ADHD, and coping with daily life. Approaches include client-centred, compassion-focused, CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR.
My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP), Bachelor of Education (BEd), and Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communications (HBA). I also have over 20 years of experience working with teens and young adults in the education and outdoor learning field. My educational and professional experience has given me a unique understanding of the needs and challenges of young people that has been invaluable in my ability to connect with my clients.
